'Hellboy 3' Is Dead: Here Are The Possible Reasons Why It Will Never Happen [VIDEO]
By"Hellboy 3" movie is dead... completely dead. This is after Guillermo del Toro announces the bad news to all of his followers on Twitter. The reason or reasons remain under wraps but here are some possible stories behind on who killed it and why they completely scrapped Hellboy.
Guillermo del Toro Says 'Sorry', 'Hellboy' Is Dead
Based on The Hollywood Reporter's note, on Tuesday, the well-known director, de Toro, announces the bad news about the cult-movie, "Hellboy". There will no longer be the third installment and it is the last and final call for the film.
Sadly enough, this is not the first time the movie has to go through with this kind of setback. Mike Mignola already passed on the project.
Possible Reasons Why It Will Never Happen
For starters, though "Hellboy" has its wide followers all over the word, it did not make enough money at the box office. With two movies, "Hellboy" and "Hellboy: The Golden Army", having low profit, is a big no-no to the producers.
According to Comicbook, "Hellboy" is under Universal Pictures. Everybody is aware that the company has already produced the "Fast and Furious" film franchise which is gaining billions of dollars in its every release. Come to think of it, if they were to choose on who to give their budget, might as well take a risk on a movie that is giving them worldwide hits.
Another possible reason is the director himself, de Toro. Speaking of "funding the film", maybe Universal Pictures did propose an amount of money that could be used for "Hellboy 3" movie but the budget might not be enough for a third installment. It could also be a "creative difference" between the studio and the director. Who knows, but to be fair enough, most of the reasons why a movie (successful or not) is on the "dead list" is because of these things.
On a different note, another person that could be behind all of this chaos is the creator, Mike Mignola. As per the same site's note, he already announces his exit from making another chapter for the story. Though he appreciates the effort of many, he is determined to leave the franchise behind. In short, he moved on already and fans should move on already. Adding on to his reasons is, again, the result of the two films that failed to charm the consumers.
And last, but definitely not the least is Ron Perlman. Though he already agreed to del Toro in having a chat about "Hellboy 3" movie, he could still be one of the killers. He is a busy man and in-demand actor. Meaning to say, if one is busy and is currently dealing with a hectic schedule, there should be an enough reason to add up another assignment to his already full list of the job. If, as per the aforementioned site, "Hellboy" the third installment has no enough offer, then could have possibly "scratch it".
These are the possible scenarios why the film franchise will not push through. The real reason behind killing "Hellboy" is still unknown.
