"Black Panther" movie cast snubs the fan-favorite character, Nick Fury. Samuel L. Jackson, who plays the role, recently opens up about Marvel's decision to not include the superhero.

'Black Panther' Dumps Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury

According to We Got This Covered, Samuel L. Jackson's well-known character, Nick Fury, is not included in the upcoming movie "Black Panther". In the actor's recent interview, he reveals how he and Marvel talk about his absence in the film.

"I asked them, 'So you're doing Black Panther and the only black character in the Marvel Universe is not showing up?" asks Jackson before adding that Marvel told him that Nick Fury "is not in Wakanda".

His interview with the site happened during his promotion tour of his latest film "Kong: Skull Island" where he stars as Preston Packard. He leads the Sky Devils helicopter squad and is also a US Army Lieutenant Colonel.

Meanwhile, back to his absence to "Black Panther", the actor tells the site his thoughts when Marvel decided to not include another black superhero, given the fact that he is almost the same as the lead role.

"How can he not know the other black superhero on the planet?" says the actor. "How the hell does that work? But they just said, 'No, you're not in that one'."

No other reason has been revealed as to why Marvel did not include Jackson's character.

Actor Might Star In 'Captain Marvel' And A Solo Movie Instead?

As per the aforementioned source, though Jackson's Nick Fury is not part of "Black Panther" movie cast, the character will still appear in other Marvel movies such as in the "Avengers" film franchise. Not to mention, Jackson teases that he might also appear in Brie Larson's "Captain Marvel".

As for his other future projects, Jackson admits his interest in having his very own Nick Fury movie. However, the actor seems to hint that if ever this idea will push through, it might take a very long time before it will be "in the works" stage. This is due to the production company's hectic schedule.

"I'd love to do a Nick Fury movie. I'm always open and game," says Jackson. "But they got Infinity Wars, two movies to do there, and after that, there's Brie [Larson's] movie Captain Marvel, which maybe [Nick] will be part of."

With regards to "Black Panther" movie cast update, Den of Geek reported that aside from Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan and Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin, Freeman, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis will also star in the film.

Additional cast members include Sterling K. Brown, Florence Kasumba, Letitia Wright, John Kani, and Winston Duke.

"Black Panther" movie premieres on Feb. 16 next year.
