iPhone 6 Release Date Clearer Now That Apple Has Reportedly Fixed Battery Issue for 5.5-Inch Model
ByApple reportedly had a breakthrough with the technical issue plaguing its 5.5-inch iPhone 6 and the rumored "phablet" is on track for a 2014 release.
According to a new report, translated and relayed by GforGames.com, Apple has turned to a different battery supplier that is capable of meeting demands. Apple wants to keep the 5.5-inch iPhone slim, so the company has turned away from Dynapack International Technology Corporation in favor of Sunwoda.
Apple has been rumored all along to be producing two versions of the iPhone 6, like what they did with last year's iPhone 5S/5C. This time, it seems, Apple will have a high-end iPhone and a higher-end one. The website reported Sunwoda will be producing 20 million batteries, meaning the phone's release is likely to be more exclusive and making the "iPhablet" more expensive.
Apple is still expected to stretch the screen size of its other release, going from the four-inch display of the 5S/5C/5 to a 4.7-inch screen.
The Cupertino, Calif. tech giant is fully expected to stay true to form and release a new iPhone this fall along with the recently unveiled iOS update. However, Apple may be only release its 4.7-inch iPhone 6 this fall with the higher-end "iPhablet" following later in the year. The new report only indicated the battery breakthrough saved the device from a 2015 release date, not when in 2014 it will hit shelves.
Now that Apple has revealed iOS 8, the iPhone 6 will get the brunt of nearly all rumors relating to the company. Here is what we already think we know for sure, according to GottaBeMobile.com.
1. Apple purchased a sapphire crystal plant in Arizona presumably to produce more durable and tougher screen glass. Apple has previously only used sapphire crystal on their camera lenses.
2. Apple has released its latest two iPhones on the third Friday of September, placing a tentative release date for the iPhone 6 at Sept. 19.
3. Apple has also been rumored to upgrade the resolution for the iPhone 6, even so sharp as to enter Retina Display territory.
4. Camera improvements are expected to be relatively minimal, meaning there will not be a major bump in megapixels, but the device should have better image stabilization technology.
5. With all these technical advances, the iPhone 6 is also rumored to come with an A8 64-bit processor to keep the Apple device running smoothly and quick as ever.
