As we get closer and closer to Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference (WWDC) this June, the speculation of the iPhone 6's unveiling is boiling over.

9to5Mac reported Weibo, a Chinese micro-blogging website, has been a source of several leaks claiming to reveal aesthetic details of the next iPhone. The latest leak, if true, would confirm the rumor that Apple is gearing up to release a 4.7-inch iPhone.

A user named "Gooey" published photos and claimed they are "backlight components for the next-generation iPhone." The iPhone 6 is also expected to run on an A8 processing chip and to have a 1704x960 display resolution.

9to5Mac also noted the leaked images make the iPhone 6 look structurally similar to the iPhone 5C and 5S. The website said the user could be trying to pass the current model off as the upcoming release, but that it could also be legitimate. Apple is also rumored to be releasing an iPhone with a 5.5-inch screen, but that model reportedly had a delay in production and would not be released until late in the year.

The WWDC, held this year June 2-6, is typically when Apple shows off its latest and greatest products as well as the new versions of their operating systems. The tech giant is fully expected to unveil iOS 8, but it is unclear if the new iPhone will be unveiled. MacRumors.com still expects the iPhone 6 to get a fall release date, which would align with past iPhone releases.

After buying a sapphire factory in Arizona, Apple is expected to release its latest iPhone with a sapphire crystal screen, making it scratch-resistant. Sapphire is also a much more durable and strong material, which is why Apple already uses it for camera lens screens and other small glass components.

USA Today reported Apple had no choice but to start making iPhones with larger screen sizes. Research from the firm Canalys states a third of the smartphones on the market now have screen sizes larger than five inches.
