The Associated Press has a new number-one team in the top 25 men's basketball rankings while Wichita State (2) continues to inch farther up.

Playing in the Missouri Valley Conference, the Shockers only have two games left on their schedule against Bradley and Missouri State. If they win, they go 31-0. With the lack of a ranked opponent on their schedule, it is unclear how Wichita State will be seeded in the NCAA tournament.

The new top team, Florida, on the other hand, has four games to play against Vanderbilt, LSU, South Carolina and Kentucky (17). One slip-up and Wichita State could see themselves finish the season ranked first nationally.

Syracuse (4), lost to BC and Duke, falling three places off the top of the rankings. Another former number-one team, Arizona recovered one spot and moved from fourth to third. Rounding out the top five, Kansas moved up three spots thanks to a close-call win over Texas Tech and an 85-54 rout of Texas (24).

Texas dropped five spots after losses to Kansas and Iowa State and also fell into a three way tie for second place in the conference with Oklahoma and the Cyclones.

Duke weathered a tough week with wins against Syracuse and Georgia Tech, but still dropped a slot in the rankings thanks to a loss to rival UNC.

The Tar Heels and Blue Devils had their first matchup of the season postponed thanks to a winter storm. The result was three games last week for both teams. UNC won all three and leaped seven spots into the rankings at 19th.

With two weeks to play, Kansas and Florida are the only power conference leaders with at least a three game lead over the second place team. Also on the line will be those four coveted one-seeds for the NCAA tournament.
