Week 12 of the college basketball season saw no change in the Associated Press top-25 ranking's first or second slot, but the same cannot be said for the rest of the list.

For the seventh week in a row, the Arizona Wildcats (18-0) are number one followed by the Syracuse Orange (18-0) at number two. Wichita State (19-0) is the only other undefeated team in the top-25, but stayed put in the fifth slot, being leap-frogged by Villanova, who moved up from sixth to fourth.

Kansas continued its meteoric rise, moving up seven spots to eighth overall, giving them a jump of 10 places in the past two weeks. Another undefeated week could launch Kansas into the top-five if the team can win at home against Baylor (24) and on the road against TCU.

While Kansas had the biggest jump, multiple teams plummeted at least six places in the rankings. Baylor fell 12 places after losing to Texas Tech and Oklahoma. Ohio State, losers of three in a row, fell six more places, giving them a two-week slide of 14. Iowa State suffered losses to Texas and Kansas, dropping six places.

Duke recouped from a week-11 rank of 23rd, beating Virginia and NC State to climb back up to 18th.

Despite a 101-point outburst against LeMoyne-Owen, Memphis' 83-73 loss to UConn proved costly, as the team dropped six places to 23rd overall. For the Huskies, UConn missed an opportunity to jump into the top-25. If the team pulled off back-to-back upsets against Memphis and Louisville, UConn would have almost certainly broken into the AP rankings, but the Huskies lost to the Cardinals 76-64.

According to ESPN, the Pac-12 is the least-represented conference in the AP top-25 with Arizona at the top and UCLA and Colorado falling out of the rankings. The Big 12 leads with six teams and the Big Ten follows closely with five.
