Project Scorpio Spotted In A New Microsoft Store Listing; Pre-E3 Reveal On Jaw-Dropping Specs May Follow
ByProject Scorpio is on its way to impact 4K gaming with pre-orders already being set-up when the powerful console is announced. Xbox head Phil Spencer previously announced that more details on the jaw-dropping specs will be revealed at E3, but also hinted that pre-E3 reveal may happen soon.
A new placeholder title for the Project Scorpio just recently appeared in the Microsoft store, but there is no definitive information other than a few general specs that have previously been known. The newest console will have 6 teraflops of graphical processing power, true 4k gaming, high-fidelity Virtual Reality and compatibility with all Xbox One games including accessories. Consumers cannot pre-order yet although the pre-order button is already there. What they can do is sign up for updates instead in the Microsoft Store as to when pre-orders will be available.
Just this week in the latest issue of "Game Informer" last Thursday, Microsoft creative director Ken Lobb revealed his thoughts on the upcoming Project Scorpio. He specifically lauded the backwards compatibility as a milestone in game software development. The technology has become much more sophisticated allowing developers to push for both forward and backward compatibility, like how it was done in the Xbox One S. The updated version of the Xbox One is almost 10 percent better, which is already a feat in itself not doable in the Super NES. If the retro console was updated to be 10 percent faster, it would have broken the games that were running at different clock rates, according to GameSpot.
With Project Scorpio, game developers have finally succeeded in scaling software to hardware. Gamers can expect graphically intensive and truly immersive games with the upcoming console, which is set to be released during the holidays. Moreover, the latest console from Microsoft will be using an octa-core AMD custom GPU that has not been announced yet and with specs still unknown other than it is expected to be a mighty one. More details will be provided during the E3 2017 in June, but a recent episode of IGN's "Unlocked" had Spencer hinting a pre-E3 reveal, OnMSFT reported. Consumers may soon hear about the Project Scorpio in the coming months.
