When asked about Xbox Scorpio pre-orders, Xbox head Phil Spencer on Twitter advises gamers to wait until actual games are shown on the new console. In a separate tweet, Spencer also assuaged Xbox One owners' fears by saying that the current console like Scorpio will have extended support.
Xbox fans took to Twitter to ask about pre-ordering Scorpio and Xbox head Spencer asked them to wait instead. Spencer advises fans to first watch the games played on the console before making pre-orders.
As of present, there have been no games shown that play on the latest Project Scorpio for the Xbox. Microsoft is set to show off games on the new console during the E3 conference this June. Scorpio is slated to release soon after.
Recently, the Xbox top honcho confirmed having his first play session describing it as a "great" experience. He also added that Scorpio looks "right" according to wccftech.
What are known so far about Xbox Scorpio is that it packs a total memory of 13GB with 12 GDDR5X shared and the 1GB IDR3 for apps and the console on standby. The upgraded console will also have Vega GPUs with a CPU based on the Ryzen architecture, which is customized by Microsoft.
Meanwhile, with the imminent release of the new console, Xbox One owners have expressed their fears about getting discontinued support on their current console. Spencer also on Twitter allayed their fears with the assurance that both Xbox One and Scorpio will get extended support.
In the past, Xbox and Wii owners have complained of seeing games dry up once new and much-improved consoles have arrived. This will not be the case with Xbox One for Project Scorpio is not a replacement, but an upgrade.
Moreover, both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have very precise mandates that current consoles will get continued support, Techno Buffalo reported. It appears that Microsoft is committing in making its current and upgraded consoles have long lifespans.
