Xbox One News: Xbox One To Get Flooded With New Games As Microsoft Unleashed Xbox Live Creators Program [VIDEO]
ByVideo game developers have been given a new way by Microsoft to bring their games to Xbox One and Windows 10. At the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2017 event, the tech giant unveiled the Xbox Live Creators Program, which is a new initiative that will allow game developers to publish their games to Xbox One.
Xbox One and the Windows 10 store will soon witness an influx of new video games. At the GDC 2017 event, the Redmond, Washington based tech company unleashed the Xbox Live Creators Program, which essentially opens the door to game developers for mass publishing on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, according to IGN. Director of Microsoft's independent developer program (ID@Xbox) Chris Charla, stated that video game developers can expose their titles across the Xbox One family of devices (including Xbox Project Scorpio), Windows 10 PCs, and the Xbox app on mobile platforms.
Nevertheless, Microsoft's Xbox Live Creators Program will have its own set of restrictions. The game developers will need to utilize Microsoft's Unified Windows Platform in order to self-publish their games. The Xbox Live Creators Program won't allow access to Xbox Live achievements, Gamerscore or multiplayer matchmaking by means of the Xbox Live. Developers can only get the Xbox Live features, such as the leaderboards and party chat, Polygon reported.
Carla stated that players can now get an access to a much wider range of titles from a broad spectrum of video game developers. Also, the program will introduce a new Guide and a Home screen to Xbox One and Windows 10 owners. Meanwhile, the game developers can openly publish their games. As for Microsoft, it strengthens the selection of titles in the Windows Store, which in the first place, is a key point in getting game enthusiasts to move up to Windows 10.
