Before Apple Inc. will release the next iteration of its Watch series, rumors and speculations already unleash the key specs and hardware of the upcoming smartwatch. It has been said that the tech giant is looking to adopt glass-film displays on the Apple Watch 3, a leap from Apple Watch 2's touch-on-lens (TOL) solution.

The Cupertino based tech company will reportedly hire the Hong Kong-based Biel Crystal Manufactory or the Taiwan-based General Interface Solution to produce Apple Watch 3 glass-film displays. The tech giant will consider adopting the glass-film display for cost-friendly approach and better yield rates, according to Digitimes. Shipments of the glass-film displays for the Apple Watch 3 is said to kick off in the second half of 2017.

Apple made it known that they are dissatisfied with their current glass producer, which is the TPK Holdings. Nonetheless, TPK Holdings came across issues in dealing with Apple Watch curved surface. Wherein, the said company has a difficulty in producing the touch sensor.

In spite of that, the Apple Watch Series 3 has latest leaked improvements. Apple Watch 3's battery life efficiency will be longer and its feature performance has been improved. Reports are claiming that the upcoming Apple Watch Series will be manufactured by the Taiwan-based Quanta Computer, Mac Rumors reported.

Smartwatch enthusiasts are hoping that the Apple Watch Series 3 will roll out with new major design, fortunately, the upgrade will not happen this year. Nevertheless, based on Apple's filed patents, the Apple Watch Series 3 will feature modular bands, a band with a built-in charger, haptic feedback band and a heart rate identification system. The Apple Watch 3 is speculated to come along with an LTE chip for cellular capabilities. The Cupertino based tech monster might launch the Apple Watch Series 3 alongside the iPhone 8 at some point in the third quarter of 2017.
