Derek and Hannah Jeter first met in 2012 and it was a couple of years after that when they decided to tie the knot. Here's how the couple's love story played out.

The New York Yankees shortstop met the model during the off-season. For Hannah, their meeting happened "at the right time" because Derek's break allowed them to spend time with each other, People reported.

Derek, 42, and Hannah, 26, were first seen in public together in August 2012 at a restaurant in Tampa, Florida. The pair was hardly spotted together in the two years following that, though Derek challenged Hannah to take on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge in August 2014.

It was in November 2015 when Derek subtly revealed via The Players' Tribune that his fiancée gifted him a dog for Christmas 2014. The engagement rumors, however, started circulating in November 2014 when he scheduled a private book signing in Las Vegas. He brought 12 guys for the event, which spurred people to assume that a bachelor party was happening.

It was in July last year when the couple got married at Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California. Hannah's bridal gown was made by Vera Wang, with her nephew serving as the ceremony's ring bearer. The wedding was intimate with guests fewer than a hundred.

Hannah revealed that she and Derek are expecting their first child this month -- a baby girl. She was more than happy to share the beginnings of her pregnancy journey to Extra. The model recently graced Sports Illustrated's swimsuit edition, and she didn't know at the time of the shoot that she was pregnant.

According to Hannah, she doesn't eat meat but she's craving for beef jerky all the time now. The blonde beauty likes sweet and salty treats in equal measure, including gummies and candies. She shared that she used to be a picky eater, but now she wants to eat everything.

Derek already picked out a name for their baby girl, but Hannah hasn't decided on one yet. She said that she's still "emotional" and she hates every name out there, but she trusts that she'll get in the spirit eventually. Her priority right now is "to keep healthy" and to not get sick.

Hannah and Derek are planning to have a couple of kids or "a team." The maximum number they're gunning for is three or four, though that all depends on how she will feel after giving birth to their daughter.
