‘The Originals’ Season 4 Spoilers: Camille Is Alive, Klaus Tortured, Cost Of Hayley-Elijah Romance [Video]
ByFans finally got an official sneak peek of The CW's "The Originals" Season 4, which will showcase a five-year time jump. Here are the biggest moments from the trailer.
Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) is now the most powerful vampire-werewolf hybrid in New Orleans after he stabbed Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and buried him behind a wall. Klaus' siblings did not escape Marcel's wrath either.
He bit Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) and poisoned Freya (Riley Voelkel). However, the latter made sure that her brothers will stay "alive" by bringing them into a dream-like world until Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) figures out a way to cure them. That is what Hayley was doing for half a decade while toting her now five-year-old daughter Hope (Summer Fontana) along.
In the trailer, Hayley found Elijah in his coffin while another scene showed her transforming into a huge, lethal werewolf fighting a group of people. Marcel was also seen bragging to his former mentor, Klaus, about how he snatched New Orleans from him.
Klaus does not look too good chained up and defeated. He also appears to be having hallucinations involving Camille (Leah Pipes).
Klaus called for Camille after waking up from a dream or nightmare. Camille heeded his call and was shown for a split second sitting beside him, saying, "I'm here." However, this could mean that Camille is just a hallucination that Klaus unconsciously conjured as a coping mechanism. There's also the possibility that Marcel made up Camille to toy with Klaus some more.
Pipes will not return as a mainstay on "The Originals," though. IMDB listed the actress for one episode (episode two of Season 4) only.
Fans should not expect Hayley and Elijah's reunion to go smooth-sailing. Executive producer Michael Narducci told TVLine that the duo has "one of the most dynamic journeys that we're going to have dramatized this season." Season 4 will open with Hayley willing to do whatever it takes to "get the final pieces of the puzzle to get Elijah and his siblings back."
Narducci said that both Hayley and Elijah will do everything to "protect each other" despite their somewhat contrasting moral compasses. Elijah prides himself of being an honorable and dignified vampire who's also capable of doing wicked things when the situation calls for it. Hayley, meanwhile, is a hybrid but her values and ethics are very much human.
"The Originals" returns for its fourth season on Friday, March 17 at 8 p.m. ET. Watch the trailer below.
