"Quantico" is airing its 12th episode titled "FALLENORACLE" this week. Alex (Priyanka Chopra) and Owen (Blair Underwood) are setting up a trap to expose Lydia's (Tracy Ifeachor) ties to the AIC.

According to TVGuide, Alex and Owen's plan will fail but they will discover that there's a bigger conspiracy looming above them. The duo will suspect that Lydia isn't the real mastermind and there's someone else in control.

Alex and Owen will investigate further, but their efforts are futile because of situations out of their control. They realize that the person behind all this doesn't want his/her wrongdoings to be exposed.

Next week's episode titled "EPICSHELTER" will showcase the recruits "learn how to burn everything down if they are ever exposed," while the FBI will investigate the Farm after someone's cryptic death, SpoilerTV reported. In the future, Alex returns to the crisis zone and reveals the identity of the person backstabbing the CIA.

A Season 3 renewal for "Quantico" isn't looking good if recent reports are to be believed. Ratings have dropped significantly since the show's debut season, averaging 2.8 million weekly viewers and 0.76 demo. Those numbers are 40 percent lower than what it got in Season 1, TVLine reported.

According to The Cancel Bear, which tracks the ratings of TV shows, ABC moved the series to Monday nights in the hopes of boosting its ratings. The effort, however, was futile and the news outlet is predicting that Season 2's ratings won't get better, leading to ABC canceling it for good. The same fate was done to the network's other shows, "Notorious" and "Conviction," which was canceled after meager 0.87 and 0.64 ratings, respectively.

Perhaps the main issue of "Quantico" is "its sense of danger," according to Vulture. Viewers tune in to spy shows because of the imminent danger presented in the storyline and though the show has that particular element, the lead character Alex is too perfect and capable of escaping even extremely difficult obstacles. Alex is shown as this woman who always gets herself out of trouble, which is why the audience doesn't really fear for her and lose interest on the character in the process.

There are also claims that Chopra agreed to slash her talent fee by nearly half to keep the show running, The Indian Express reported. Those claims have been denied by the actress' spokesperson.
