"John Wick 3" might really happen. With the film's positive reviews and box office return, creating the third installment is a big possibility. As for director Chad Stahelski and lead actor Keanu Reeves, both men are totally game for it. Here is what we know so far.

'John Wick 3' Might Really Happen

According to Cinemablend, "John Wick" film franchise is a solid box office hit among moviegoers. The first film grossed $86 million out of a $20 million movie budget while the second one, "John Wick: Chapter 2" earned $2.2 million in its release. This alone could be considered as Lionsgate basis for another installment for "John Wick 3".

Starting from its commercial aspect to its mostly positive critical response, producing "John Wick 3" will not be totally risky. The two previous films were able to stand on its own, the storylines and the cast were able to surpass the expectations of the fans.

Now, moviegoers, as early as of now, are hoping that Lionsgate will greenlit "John Wick 3". Though nothing has been officially confirmed, the aforementioned source noted that the production house is allegedly interested for a third installment.

Lionsgate, as reported, asked director Stahelski to come up with ideas for "John Wick 3". Adding on, during that time Lance Reddick and Ian McShane roles, Charon and Winston, will have bigger parts in the installment.

John Wick 3: Director Chad Stahelski And Keanu Reeves Confirms Interest and More

Based on Reeves' interview with Entertainment Weekly, "John Wick 3" depends on the success or more like on the audience' feedback. If the reviews are mostly positive, there is a higher possibility that chapter 3 will be under the "in the works" level.

"Absolutely. I love the character and the world" Reeves' admitted. "Whether or not I get the chance to do another chapter is really up to the audience. If they enjoy what we did --- and hopefully they do, fingers-crossed, I really dig it --- but if they do enjoy it, then I'll have the chance to continue the story of the character and the world."

On the other hand, when it comes to Stahelski, the director confirms his interest in helming "John Wick 3" if it will ever happen.

As of writing, fans have already been thinking that the story has so much to offer and two installments are not enough, a "John Wick 3" or even more additional chapters for the movie might give them the satisfaction that Reeves' character is ready to say its goodbye to the big screen.

"John Wick: Chapter 2" premiered last Feb. 10.
