While NVIDIA kept the appealing design of the Shield TV 2017 and the device is now slimmer compared to the previous model, the tech giant pitched in a few upgrades to the Android TV. The Nvidia Shield TV 2017 has all the ports that a user may need for connectivity, such as an Ethernet port for internet access, two USB ports can be used to charge the Shield Controller and to connect HDMI port and an external storage. As the device only comes with a 16GB of internal storage, users may want to utilize the extra USB port to incorporate more memory, Android Authority reported.
The remote control of the Nvidia Shield TV 2017 is pretty much the same from its predecessor, except for the large microphone button that will trigger Google Assistant's voice search. The remote of the Nvidia Shield TV 2017 now has a touch sensitive area that lines the bottom half where the user can slide their finger up and down for volume adjustment.
Furthermore, the Nvidia Shield TV 2017 has access to every content provider that a person desired, such as iPlayer, Amazon, YouTube, as well as Netflix. Also, if the Shield TV user wants even more content, there's an option to load the media players, Kodi and Plex, according to Mirror.
On the other hand, the tech giant gave a good boost to the Nvidia Shield Tablet K1. The tablet received the Android 7.0 Nougat, and gave the device tons of interesting features.
The Android 7.0 Nougat pitched in an improvement in notifications to the Nvidia Shield Tablet K1. Messages can be replied directly from within the notification, CNET reported.
