‘The Originals’ Season 4 Crossover & Updates: Alaric Visits New Orleans; Will Caroline Help The Mikaelsons?
ByAfter months of speculations, The CW has finally confirmed the crossover between "The Vampire Diaries" and "The Originals" Season 4. Moreover, The CW has set the release date for the fourth season of the vampire saga, which will be on March next year.
In the eight episode of "The Originals" Season 4, a familiar Mystic Falls resident will make his way to New Orleans to deliver a gift to one of the original vampires. Alaric, played by Matt Davis, will appear in "The Originals" Season 4 to deliver an important artifact to Elijah, TVLine exclusively reported.
Alaric is the fourth character from "The Vampire Diares" to appear in "The Originals." In Season 1, Michael Trevino's Tyler popped up to exact revenge against Klaus. Zach Roerig's Matt and Paul Wesley's Stefan also showed up in "The Originals" Season 3. Stefan headed to New Orleans at the time because he was on the run and needed to go to a place where magic can't find him. New Orleans has a bar where magic doesn't work, making it a suitable hideout for Stefan.
With "The Vampire Diaries" coming to an end with its eighth and final season, there are speculations that a character or two will transfer to "The Originals." One of the names being mentioned is Caroline Forbes (Candice King), who previously had a romantic relationship with Klaus. Given the current situation with the Mikaelsons, it would be interesting to see Caroline stop by at New Orleans to help the family solve some of their local problems.
If ever Caroline does visit New Orleans, it won't be to rekindle romance with Klaus as Caroline and Stefan got engaged in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8. "They've been growing as a team, they've had their ups and their downs, they've had a lot of hurdles preventing them from being able to be happy and we knew we did need some happiness in this otherwise bleak scenario," executive producer Julie Plec tells EW about the engagement.
"The Originals" Season 4 will premiere on March 17, 2017 on The CW, wherein the first episode will introduce viewers to a now grown-up Hope Mikaelson.
