"Mr. Robot" Season 3 is expected to be in the time of the Donald Trump aftermath where a great economic collapse will be happening like a slow-mo car accident. The next installment will see current events, increased terrorism and domestic violence.

There is reportedly a bomb that is poised to level an E Corp building as Season 3 will commence. "Mr. Robot" Season 3 is believed to be the second phase plan by the Dark Army along with Tyrell, Mr. Robot and even Angela. Elliot is expected to thwart the plan, Inverse reported.

"Mr. Robot" Season 3 will return in 2017. "Mr. Robot" Season 1 was believed to be about Elliot's self-awareness, Season 2 about the revolution, and Season 3 is said to be about disintegration as Elliot will split further apart from Mr. Robot against the nation's recession.

Actor Rami Malek, who won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor for the role of Elliot Andersen, said that he has already shot a scene for Season 3, but refused to give further details. "Mr. Robot" Creator Sam Esmail said that the show is about the hacker's emotional journey.

Christian Slater will still be part of the show as "Mr. Robot". In Season 2, Elliot tried and failed to get him out of his head because "Mr. Robot" is part of his psyche, Variety reported. Carly Chaikin and Portia Doubleday will still be part of the show as Darlene and Angela but is said to have bigger roles than in the previous season.

Meanwhile, in the Season 2 finale of "Mr. Robot" entitled "eps2.9_pyth0n-pt2.p7z", Elliot's hacker sister Darlene was believed to be linked to the fsociety militants who did the huge 5/9 hack that has thrown the US and its biggest conglomerate E Corp into a financial nosedive. Two of Darlene's hacking associates, Trenton (Sunita Mani) and Mobley (Azhar Khan) have fled to Burbank, CA Phoenix thinking they can reverse the impact of 5/9. As for Darlene, her fate is in the hands of Agent Dom who will be on the lookout for Elliot and Tyrell (Martin Wallström), the protagonists of the 5/9 hack.
