The most recent details for "Tekken 7" will feature in-game items, new character style combo, likely cross-platform gameplay as well as Kuma and Roger Jr. omitted from the roster.
Bandai Namco unveiled a slew of new details for the imminent ninth installment in the "Tekken" saga.
The characters in the game sequels will boast an array of new attacks that can transfer their adversaries at a greater distance dubbed, "Tailspins." In addition, the wall damage mechanics have been modified to restrict long chained combos, game designer Michael Murray told Siliconera.
But that's not all. Every character's special move will lead to damage based on the pending life span of the rival character - basically low HP would cause more damage and more HP would result in less damage, game producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed.
Harada admitted that he and the developer team behind the game are finding it tough to decide in other non-human characters including Kuma and Roger Jr. in the game as it might garner mixed reactions from gaming fans as quite of few players would not want to add them, while others want them in the sequel simply because they have been part of the "Tekken" series.
Rumors are running rampant that "Tekken 7" will have boast another game feature as the studio teased that there might be a cross-platform gameplay between Xbox One and PS4 versions, Yibada reported.
Harada opened up about the concept of the cross-platform plans for "Tekken 7" explaining that it will not be an easy task to accomplish. He also divulged that the plans were under scrutiny by Bandai Namco.
However, the studio would first need to take care of some steps before making their decision as Sony and Microsoft's approval is also important to let that happen.
While Microsoft has remained neutral as far as the idea is concerned, Sony has opted to remain mum about it. Hopefully, the rivalry will soon fade out to benefit avid fans of "Tekken."
Moreover, the addition of the PC platform is yet another concern that Bandai Namco must authorize for the feature as Harada clarified that cross-play with the PC version is comparatively easier than doing it in the consoles. However, this move is not sparred from issues either as cheaters may attempt to create loopholes that can devastate video game experience as far as gamers are concerned.
Harada noted that it is for the gaming community to decide if they prefer going through with cross-play in the Xbox One, PS4 and PC platforms.
"Tekken 7" is slated to debut sometime next year for Xbox One, PS4 and the PC.
