'Red Dead Redemption 2' E3 2016 Debut Called Off Citing The Title's Violence-Packed Trailer [VIDEO]
ByOver the past few weeks, rumor mills swirled several speculations; all hinting the release of the much-awaited "Red Dead Redemption 2" however, there was no guarantee whether the sequel to the hit action-adventure video game will actually make an appearance at E3 2016.
Sony's E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) 2016 press conference was quite impressive as expected, assembling everything avid gamers wanted to see as well as some huge surprises.
Contrary to what rumor mills hinted, and more importantly what gamers anticipated, Sony did not take the wraps off "Red Dead Redemption 2" at E3 this year. If rumors doing rounds are anything to go by, the company dropped its plan to unveil the game at the event citing the Orlando attacks and unveiled "Days Gone," TheBitBag reported.
"Red Dead Redemption 2," without question is one of the most awaited games that is yet to be released, and Rockstar Games has remained mum and refrained from providing any official details about the title. Despite this, fans were looking forward to the game's debut at Sony's E3 Showcase. Although the game was slated to release at Sony's E3 conference, the company cancelled the reveal owing to its gameplay features, Express reported.
A video by GameRiot notes that Sony would have exhibited the violence-packed "Red Dead Redemption 2" trailer that feature mass killing.
Apparently, in one of the scenes in the trailer, the protagonist steps into a saloon and shoots everyone. Besides, there are quite a few similar events in the game that could disturb the Orlando shooting victims' families. Exhibiting such scenes at a mega gaming event of the year was clearly not a good move, especially considering the recent Orlando incident. Thus, Sony decided to unwrap "Days Gone" instead of the highly-anticipated title.
Rockstar Games and Sony has opted to remain mum and has divulged no details confirming such changes at E3 2016. This piece of news comes from a slew of unofficial sources, which imply it should be taken with a pinch of salt. However, if rumors turned true, the company's move to drop the release of ""Red Dead Redemption 2" makes sense, especially considering the circumstances.
That being said, fans will need to wait and watch when Rockstar Games decides to finally launch the game. However, this hasn't stopped the optimistic fans from believing that the game will debut at E3 2016, and taking into consideration that E3 is slated to run until June 16, there's still hope for fans who are still anticipating the launch of "Red Dead Redemption 2."
Sony, on the other hand has already made its important announcement at E3 2016, so the possibility of the title using the event as its launching pad seems very slim though. Nevertheless, while rumor mills continue to swirl speculations, and with a slew of leaked information regarding the game, fans are still looking forward for an announcement from Rockstar Games.
