Microsoft fans are surely surprised to learn that the tech giant is launching a new device under its 2017 schedule. Introducing Surface Laptop to the computing arena, this revolutionary computer is undeniably impressive delivering the best features in one handy unit at a very reasonable price.

This laptop debuts as a Microsoft PC with Surface branding. The form and its appearance are surprisingly chic but jam-packed with powerful specs packed under a $999 price tag. Surprisingly, it deviates in a way that it does not follow Microsoft's famed gimmicks, the likes of detachable GPUs and tablet/laptop hybrid concept.

Surface Laptop is designed to fit students' needs, specifically those who are about to leave high school. According to Microsoft's devices Chief Panos Panay, these students whom they have consulted were asking for a Surface Laptop. So they created a new hardware that they were requesting and it came out beautiful.

Regarding its beauty, Surface Laptop has a 13.5-inch PixelSense display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. It also houses Microsoft's newest operating system, the Windows 10 S. the surface has an unusual feel since the device uses a fabric-Alcantara keyboard similar to the premium Surface Pro 4 keyboard, The Verge reported.

In addition, Surface Laptop is technically the thinnest LCD touch model Microsoft has produced 14.5mm thick, with a slight narrowing. It holds a 1.5mm travel for the backlit keys, Ars Tecnica added.

As early as now, tech insiders are comparing the said device with the yet-to-be-defunct MacBook Air since both laptops since Surface Laptop sells starting at $999 for the Core i5 version with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage.

The Surface Laptop's screen supports the Surface Pen which allows the user to draw like in other Surface devices. Users can choose between Core i5 and Core i7 processors which guarantee a battery life of 14.5 hours a substantial edge against MacBook Air's.

Microsoft Surface Laptops are now available for pre-orders and expected to arrive at your doorsteps by June 15.
