"Total War: Warhammer II" was formally announced recently during a panel at EGX Rezzed in London by The Creative Assembly. This was announced because the game company teased it to the fans recently with a countdown clock a few days back, leaving them speculating about a sequel.
"Total War: Warhammer II's" four new races
In the latest sequel of the "Total War: Warhammer" franchise, four new playable races will be introduced. These new playable races are the High Elves, Dark Elves, Lizardmen, and a mystery race to be announced later on, according to the official website of the game.
New locations for the next sequel
The sequel will also introduce new areas for players to explore like the mystery-shrouded continents far to the west of The Old World. These new areas will be Ulthuan, Naggaroth, The Southlands, and Lustria. The fans actually believed that the announcement was for a new "Warhammer" game the countdown website was teasing for.
New narrative campaign style revealed
SEGA and Creative Assembly explained that the game will feature a new style of narrative campaign, but it will still offer the classic "Total War" style of gameplay. Each of the four races will be competing to either save or destroy the Great Vortex over Ulthuan, and players will have to rush to accomplish victory.
The Creative Assembly make a promise
The game developers promised that the new campaign will offer hundreds of hours of gameplay. For those who own the first game and this one, a free update will be coming soon after the sequel's launching. It will provide the sequel with a combined campaign map that will consist of the regions for both games, and this will also let them play through campaigns with any playable race they own.
Combined campaign will not be available right at launch
The Creative Assembly explained that the Vortex campaign will not be available right at launch due to its large size. Each of the campaigns in the Combined Campaign will have its own playtesting and balancing, which will take time to do.
Game developers reveal the announcement trailer
Aside from the text announcement, the announcement trailer, which can be viewed down below, was also revealed. It showcased several significant characters in the game, especially the new races and a hint of the fourth one, according to its official forums.
