The Microsoft Surface Phone was previously expected to launch anytime in 2017. Nonetheless, a Reddit user, who claims to be former employee of a Microsoft contractor, revealed that the highly anticipated Microsoft Surface Phone is still under development and will not be released in 2017. Reports then started to spring one after the other that the tech company will instead release a new Lumia smartphone this year.
The Redmond, Washington based tech titan is believed to unleash the Surface Phone in 2019, according to Learn Bonds. This claim on the release of a new foldable Lumia smartphone will buy the tech company more time to develop its Surface Phone while maintaining its presence in the market. Also, recently surfaced reports claimed that the launch date of a Windows foldable Lumia smartphone is probably happening soon.
Nevertheless, the Microsoft Surface Phone is expected to be available with a 5.7-inch display and will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 processor, WCCF Tech reported. The highly anticipated Microsoft device is said to come along with the Surface Pen stylus. Furthermore, rumor has it that the upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone will ditch the 3.5mm audio jack in favor of a USB-C port.
The USB-C port in the Microsoft Surface Phone will serve as a charging port and as an audio input. The Microsoft Surface Phone is also speculated to sport a 21MP rear shooter along with a Carl Zeiss lens. In spite of that, the tech giant has not confirmed nor deny any rumors and speculations about the upcoming Microsoft Surface Phone.
