The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti is now out of stock, but may soon be restocking reportedly on March 25. However, some enthusiasts would rather wait for custom variants with much-improved power supplies and cooler that could really push the newly-released NVIDIA graphics card way beyond its overclocking limits.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition is the only card currently released. When launched the graphics cards quickly sold out, indicating that demand is high and NVIDIA failed to make a good forecast. However, wccftech has made the rounds and got an exclusive tip that a March 25 restocking of the Founders Edition may be expected. In the meantime, the Founders Edition may still be purchased at Amazon but with a steep premium of $850 as against the MSRP of $699.

However, PC gamers may need to stay vigilant for the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti could easily sell out in minutes as it did last Friday. The March 10 sale commenced at 10 a.m. PT and half an hour later, NVIDIA posted an out-of-stock notification on its website. According to Game Revolution, NVIDIA has made assurance of providing a daily inventory so there should be more GTX 1080 Ti available. However, this does not seem to be the case and the graphics cards are hard to come by unless gamers are willing to buy it from third-party sellers at steep prices.

A NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti at $850 or above will still be less than the $1,200 for the Pascal-based Titan X so it will still be a relative bargain for a 4k and 60fps-capable card. A Kotaku review adds more reason to buy the card having promoted its 4K gaming capability to "comfortable" from "capable." However, some enthusiasts would rather wait for custom variants which are expected in 4 to 6 weeks. Unlike the Founders Edition, these variants have been further tweaked with beefier coolers and power supplies that ensure the card's potential for overclocking beyond its current limit.
