‘Mass Effect Andromeda’: Multiplayer Beta Test canceled; Non-Human Playable Characters Confirmed; Game ‘Nudity’ Slammed By Critics
ByIn was quite unfortunate for fans that have signed up last year and looking forward to the multiplayer beta test of "Mass Effect Andromeda," as the company decided to cancel beta testing which was scheduled ahead of the game's official release on March 21 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
A BioWare blog post confirmed the news, which also detailed plans for "Mass Effect Andromeda" to be featured at PAX East. Additionally, information was also communicated that multiplayer will be available for play at the venue, Eurogamer reported.
According to a series of Tweets sent out by BioWare producer Fernando Melo, was apologetic that the multiplayer tech test will not push through. He acknowledged that many were actually looking forward to it, but there is a long story to it, yet it is the best decision, said he, considering "Mass Effect Andromeda" is so close to going live.
He mentioned that "Mass Effect Andromeda" multiplayer has had the most extensive user testing they have done. On another Tweet, he informed that "Mass Effect Andromeda" was put through closed alpha on retail consoles early this year. What he is saying is that the game has been out there and tested on the wild, according to Gamespot.
Accordingly, EA/Origin Access subscribers can have a go of the entire "Mass Effect Andromeda" game ahead of the scheduled launch when it becomes available on the subscription service on March 16. It was surmised from a screenshot that "Mass Effect Andromeda" would have non-human playable characters in the game, as seen on the character selection screen sent out by Melo.
However, though there is the likelihood that "Mass Effect Andromeda" will have a DLC, it will not have a season pass. Plans will be detailed later how this will be dispensed, according to the report.
"Mass Effect Andromeda" slammed for 'porn'
Critics slammed the major game developer after Bioware's general manager Aaryn Flynn seemingly bragged on Twitter about losing "partial nudity" rating into "nudity." He later apologized for the deed, citing he gave the wrong impression in response to a Twitter follower when he said; "Mass Effect Andromeda" is totally softcore space porn. In his apology Tweet, he said, the game has strong characters that are all involved in mature themes.
