"Vikings" season 5 spoilers hint Harald and the newest character, Heahmund, might be the newest antagonist in the series. Meanwhile, Floki seems to be following the written history about Hrafna-Flóki Vilgerðarson.

'Vikings': Heahmund, Harald Might Be The Central Antagonist In The Series

In "Vikings" sneak peek preview for the fifth installment, viewers got a glimpse of a laughing Harald "Finehair" (Peter Franzen) while wearing a crown on his head. It follows Lagertha's (Katheryn Winnick) scene where she seems to be preparing for a war. This seemingly suggests that these two characters will face each other on the battlefield in season 5.

Harald is known as a threat for Ragnar Lothbrok's (Travis Fimmel). All throughout the seasons, he has been wanting to end the like of the Viking leader and rule Norway. Now that the latter is dead, speculations point out that he will go after Lagertha which makes him the possible central antagonist in "Vikings" season 5.

Meanwhile, as for Bishop Heahmund (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), the character will be first introduced in season 5. Though it is still unclear when he will appear, some suggest that he might show up in episode 1 since Michael Hirst reveals his important role in the next installment.

In Hirst interview with Entertainment Weekly, he describes Heahmund as "a worthy opponent to Ivar". This alone points out how big is Meyers' role in the series. This could also mean that he, like Harald, might be the main antagonist in season 5.

"His whole life is about deeply passionate commitments," says Hirst. "They were crazy! They believed totally in Christianity and the message, and yet, on the battlefield, they were totally berserk."

'Vikings': Floki's Character Might Follow Exactly Hrafna-Flóki Vilgerðarson History

According to The Dock Yards, there is a possibility that Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) follows the written life of Hrafna-Flóki Vilgerðarson. He is a Norseman who first sailed in Iceland.

In the preview of "Vikings" season 5, Floki has seen alone in a place full of ice. This part suggests that he might be in Iceland besides Hirst already confirmed the settings in the said country. If this is the latest story arc of the character, the Vikings writers might loosely base it in Hrafna-Flóki Vilgerðarson.

"Vikings" fifth season might possibly return in November.
