Tech crowds are expecting Moto G5 and G5 Plus at MWC event and the latest leaks suggest the affordable phones are much better than their predecessors.
Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus Specs
A recent report on the two handsets suggests that they will be getting a metal unibody. The leak shows off Moto G5 handset from the front and back sides; it looks like Lenovo still retains the bezels.
Under the hood, Moto G5 is said to pack a Snapdragon 430 chip whereas the higher end G5 Plus uses the 625 series, Android Central reported. Moto G5 is the smaller variant sporting 5-inch display whilst the Plus variant is a 5.2-inch smartphone. Furthering the detail, the G5 Plus is said to be larger and heavier with 150.2 x 74 x 7.9 mm dimensions and 155g of weight.
The plausible differences on both devices would be the internal storage (32 GB and 64 GB) and the RAM space (2GB and 3GB).
The latest leak on both handsets shows a different headphone jack's placement. The G5 will have it on top whereas G5 Plus jack is on the bottom. Pocket-Lint has learned that the fingerprint sensor is located at the front panel with a dedicated button.
Judging from the leaked images and specs, Moto G5 and G5 Plus will be getting a removable battery (2,800 mAh and 3,200 mAh). This is a great selling point and a useful feature given that the handset does not mimic today's bezel-less devices.
As for the price, the G5 variant will reportedly sell for around $342. As a budget smartphone, the G5 series will have its own fans especially those who prefer nearly stock Android experience - they will most likely be getting it from Moto G5 and G5 Plus.
