Mi Mix 2: Xiaomi to Push The Boundaries further with Grand Design, Cutting-Edge Specs
ByXiaomi Mi Mix is lauded for its inevitably thin bezels and now the Apple of China is reportedly gearing up to launch the second generation.
The hype isn't finished with Redmi Note 4 but Xiaomi already has a plan for the Mi Mix successor. Reports have hinted at an even larger screen-to-ratio percentage. Mi Mix 2 will reportedly get 93 percent ratio - a bigger number than its predecessor with 91.3 percent. This would mean an extremely thin bezel.
To add another excitement in the rumor, Mi Mix 2 will have no physical button at all. It may seem too good to be true but when the original Mi Mix first came out, it's lauded for bringing a revolutionary design ahead of Apple - a super thin bezel that's expected to feature in iPhone 8.
Lei Jun, Xiaomi CEO, have reportedly partnered up with Phillip Stark to create another concept albeit not mentioning a word on Mi Mix 2, Phandroid reported.
Stark was involved in the Mi Mix design and the fact that Jun is working with the French designer could hint at the second gen phone in the making. Other report suggests that Xiaomi could be making another innovative device instead of Mi Mix 2.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 specs
If the handset will come to fruition, it will most likely have similar specifications to its older sibling. A USB type C port and NFC will be two connectivity components in the Mi Mix 2.
The current device sports 4,400 mAh, hence, Xiaomi is expected to up the capacity and include a wireless charging feature. There isn't much information to dig at the moment but PC Advisor has learned that Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 might have a Q4 2017 launch date.
