Android 7.0 Nougat Update for Samsung Galaxy A and J Series
Rumors suggest that Android 6.0 Marshmallow is phasing out and thus, Samsung is now in a hurry to upgrade their two-year old devices to Nougat. However, this claim has never been supported by an official announcement from Google that's why Android fans are advised to take this matter with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, Samsung has already started rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat to Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge last month which brought handful of feature enhancements. For this reason, the South Korean tech firm is reportedly prepping up for the release of latest Android beta to several handsets particularly to Galaxy A and J series, according to XDA Developers.
In relative to that, Samsung Electronics Turkey Vice President Tansu Yegen revealed that 2016 models of Galaxy A3, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A9 and Galaxy A9 Pro will received the Android 7.0 Nougat update on the third week of February. On the other hand, Nougat update on the 2016 versions of Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 is coming in the month of July.
Nougat Updates for Other Samsung Devices
For other Android 6.0 Marshmallow-operated devices such as Galaxy Tab S2, Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7, no definite schedule has been announced for them. It may take some time for Samsung to rollout the update on them since the company is also taking its time seeding the new firmware for its flagship smartphones under Galaxy S and Galaxy Note S series.
On the other hand, Samsung is reportedly working on the 2017 iteration of Galaxy J5 which has already received Wi-Fi certification and will run Marshmallow. As the popular Galaxy series in India, fans expect high-performing specs and enhanced features on the smartphone, according to Digit.
