With this regard, Apple is expected to assemble 300,000 to 400,000 units of low-cost iPhone SE models for a start. Although the numbers reported are substantially low for a start, Reuters added that they are not sure if the Cupertino-giant has also plans to assemble other models.
It can be recalled that for the fourth quarter of last year, market researcher Counterpoint reported that Apple has ranked number 10 in India's smartphone market with 2.5 million iPhones shipped. It was Samsung, alongside Chinese firms such as Xiaomi and Vivo that dominated the Indian market because of relatively low priced smartphones.
The entry-level iPhone SE costs 28,433 rupees ($424) while smartphones from Samsung Electronics and other Chinese players cost 15,000 ($225). Apple's current move of manufacturing low-cost iPhone SE in India is expected to generate greater shares in the world's fastest growing major mobile market.

For this reason, since the Cupertino giant is heading towards releasing a low-cost iPhones SE in India, rumors suggest that the device could possibly run the iOS 11 but this claim remains unverified.
However, Apple is reportedly releasing the presumed iPhone 8 during the 10th iPhone anniversary happening between August and September of this year and it is speculated to come along with the iOS. However, PC Advisor reported that Apple might show off iOS 11 on June 5 in the company's opening keynote during the developer's WWDC event.
