In December 2016, Intel had signed a licensing agreement for graphics technology patents with the semiconductor company, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Now, Hard OCP Editor Kyle Bennett is reporting that Intel might launch a CPU with Radeon GPUs before 2017 ends.

Intel has reportedly been licensing with GPU technology of AMD in an effort of unleashing a module that comes along with an Intel 7th-gen Kaby Lake processor, coupled with AMD's graphics processor. The first Intel and AMD collaboration will be aiming at entry-level or mid-range devices, according to Tech Power Up.

Wherein, it suggests that the Santa Clara, California based tech company isn't necessarily hoping to sway tech fans for its high-end products that features Iris integrated graphics. Nonetheless, while dishing off the Intel HD graphics and using AMD Radeon graphics could allow Intel to launch a higher-performance graphics to its inexpensive devices.

Nevertheless, there are two possibilities discussed regarding the licensing agreement for graphics technology patents. First, the licensing agreement of both parties was about to expire, and the second is the Intel chips utilizing AMD graphics, Notebook Check reported.

In spite of that, back in 2011, Intel had a licensing deal with Nvidia, as part of a $1.5 billion settlement over GPU patents. In order to avoid patent infringement, Intel needs to have a deal for GPU technology licenses with either AMD or Nvidia.

That being the case, Intel's forthcoming Radeon-powered Kaby Lake processor is slated to be a mid-range part. Thus, tech enthusiasts could expect something in the 1080p 60FPS region for a price of $249.

Meanwhile, Intel Corporation showcased its three hundred Intel Shooting StarTM drones during the Pepsi Zero Sugar Super Bowl LI Halftime. Intel created a unique drone light show experience to kick off the performance of Lady Gaga, according to Geek Wire.
