With ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Pre-Order Starts Feb. 5, ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ Could Beat ‘Call of Duty’ [VIDEO]
ByOne of 2017's most anticipated video games is Rockstar Games' upcoming open world western action-adventure game, "Red Dead Redemption 2." While there is no confirmation regarding the release date of the game, game enthusiasts are getting excited over the pre-orders, which will fire up on Feb. 5.
A Redditor named droptheverse, posted an image of what could be the video game's pre-order card that starts on Feb, 5. Unfortunately, the video game company did not confirm the said "Red Dead Redemption 2" pre-order card, iDigital Times reported.
Nevertheless, the Feb. 5 is the same day of the annual championship game of the National Football League (NFL), Super Bowl 2017. If the pre-order period for the upcoming video game kicks off, a surge in marketing is expected to transpire.
If Rockstar Games' upcoming open world western action-adventure game will be given a treatment in the Super Bowl 2017, the video game company might see a boost in sales. The company could possibly reach more "Red Dead Redemption" fans who are willing to spend money for the highly anticipated sequel.
On the other hand, the video-games market research NPD, released its 2017's best-selling games of the year. Wherein, the top ten came with a number of surprising stories, but Activision's first-person shooter game franchise, "Call of Duty," is consistently on the top spot. Rockstar's "Grand Theft Auto" is the only other game series that appears to be able to compete with its strength, the same goes as what Rockstar's fifth installment did in 2013, according to Forbes.
Nonetheless, with Rockstar's upcoming GTA installment is far away, the soon to be released "Red Dead Redemption 2" could beat Call of Duty. Rockstar's forthcoming video game might seriously give Activision's first-person shooter game a run for its money.
"Red Dead Redemption 2" is expected to land on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
