The DC cinematic universe has been gaining more traction as of late. What used to be a Batman and Superman dominated world is now becoming a more populated one filled with interesting characters and hardcore fan favorites. Interestingly, DC has not been afraid to put their supervillains at the forefront of their TV shows and movies as evidenced by 2016's "Suicide Squad." It seems DC is looking to follow the trend with the planned "Black Adam" standalone film.

According to Techno Buffalo, DC is planning to split the "Shazam" movies into three parts. One of the movies will introduce the valorous Captain Marvel while the other will bring the villainous Black Adam into the fray. The two movies will culminate into a legendary showdown between the two godlike beings once their solo films have been completed.

Fans and film experts are not surprised at this recent development as Johnson has become one of Hollywood's most lucrative and popular film stars of this generation. Johnson has been slated to play Black Adam for a while now but not much information has been disclosed as of yet. A director, a crew, and a release date have yet to be finalized with the "Shazam" movie apparently being more prioritized.

However, the anti-heroic supervillain has had a loyal following over the years, and fans are extremely excited to see Black Adam on the big screen. Here are some details about the character fans should know about. As reported by Cinema Blend, Adam originally hails from ancient Egypt and, along with Captain Marvel, managed to impress the wizard Shazam enough to give him superhuman powers. The wizard Shazam granted Adam the godly strength of Mighty Adam.

Mighty Adam originally used his powers to protect Egypt from tyranny and carnage but was seduced to the dark side by a woman named Blaze, who actually turned out to be Shazam's daughter. Fast forward to the modern day era with a man named Theo Adam, who is most likely the character Johnson is going to play. Theo inherits to powers of his ancestors and is up in the air of how he will use this newfound power, whether it be for better or for worse.
