"Outlander" is in the middle of filming its highly anticipated third season. Updates continue to pour in while the Starz series is in production and just recently, two new cast members have been added to the roster.

Gary Young and Charlie Hiett will portray the talented Chinese poet Mr. Willoughby and the British Artemis Captain Thomas Leonard, respectively, in Season 3, Deadline reported. The exiled Mr. Willoughby is extremely knowledgeable about Eastern medicine and has a penchant for women.

Mr. Willoughby is also a close friend of Jamie's (Sam Heughan) and even though he is fluent in English, he pretends that he does not whenever a situation calls for it. Young's character is deemed as an outsider in 18th century Scotland, much like Caitriona Balfe's Claire.

Leonard, though inexperienced, is a rule-abiding captain who got promoted to his post quickly after his commanding officers' sudden deaths. Leonard was only a third lieutenant when he became captain, but he is more than willing to prove himself capable of the position even though he struggles with it. The character has a loyalty for the British Navy regardless if it coincides with his personal morals or not.

Season 3 is based on Diana Gabaldon's third novel, titled "Voyager," of the "Outlander" books. The writer recently provided filming updates for the new season.

In a tweet posted on Jan. 26, Gabaldon revealed that filming for the first five episodes of Season 3 are already done, though they are yet to undergo post-production. Gabaldon wrote in another tweet that "Voyager" is "easier to adapt" to the small screen than "Dragonfly in Amber" (which Season 2 was based on) because it has a "much more straight-forward story."

Production for Season 3 is moving to Dunure, Ayrshire in Scotland. Check out some of the set pieces below. The lead stars, Heughan and Balfe, were spotted shooting scenes at Dunure Castle in South Ayrshire.

The duo was filmed in a seemingly romantic scene at the seashore. The castle ruins loom behind them while they are engaged in a deep conversation. Check out the photos over on The Outlander Cast Blog.

Executive producer Matthew B. Roberts told fans via Twitter to look out for "a few well-placed nuggets sprinkled throughout" the upcoming episodes, both verbal and visual. He said that it will be akin to a treasure hunt.

One of the most anticipated scenes on "Outlander" Season 3 is Jamie and Claire's reunion in a print shop after their 20-year separation.
