After months of rumors and speculations, Nina Dobrev has finally confirmed reports of returning to "The Vampire Diaries" series finale. The actress made his huge announcement via the social media tool, Instagram.

According to TV Line, Nina Dobrev is set to return as Elena Gilbert in the series finale. The website also added that fans have gone wild when news of Nina's return on March 10 came out.

As mentioned by The Variety, Nina Dobrev made a huge announcement this week via the social media tool Instagram, posting a photo of the series finale script and the hashtags, "#BackOnSet #TVDForever."

Dobrev had left the supernatural TV series at the end of Season 6.The actress had played not just the character Elena, but also the vampire doppelgänger Katherine Pierce as well as the progenitor of her doppelgänger line. She also played multiple characters in the same episode.

Since leaving the supernatural series, the 28-years-old Bulgarian actress has starred in big-budgeted films such as Vin Diesel's "Return of Xander Cage."

Based on the fantasy drama book series by L.J. Smith, It made its official debut on The CW network in September 2009. The pilot episode has grabbed the largest viewership for The CW of any series premiere since The CW network started on 2006.
