"Law & Order: SVU" Season 18 will air its 400th episode soon and it will showcase Mariska Hargitay both in front and behind the camera. The episode is titled "Motherly Love" and behind-the-scenes photos from it have been released recently.

Hargitay, who also stars as Lt. Olivia Benson in the series, has already directed five episodes of "Law & Order: SVU" prior to "Motherly Love," E! News reported. The actress is also an executive producer of the show.

The actress was seen directing a huge crowd outside the court, while another photo showed Rafael Barba (Raul Esparza) looking determined to nail down a perp in the courtroom. Check out Hargitay directing the upcoming episode below.

"Motherly Love" centers on a teenage boy who uses "a rifle to stop an assault on his mother, but soon learns the target was someone he knows," SpoilerTV reported. Sarah Wynter, Aaron Sanders, Chantal Jean-Pierre, Olivia Sargent, Jason Bowen, Jenna Stern, Benton Greene, Daniel Cosgrove, Delaney Williams, Gage Polchlopek and Donald Dasg are guest starring.

"Law & Order: SVU" Season 18 was supposed to air a Donald Trump-inspired episode on Oct. 26, but it was pushed back to Nov. 16 until it was finally removed from the show's schedule on NBC. The episode is titled "Unstoppable" and showcases Gary Cole as a politician in the vein of Trump. The character's political campaign got riddled with setbacks after women came forward claiming serious accusations against him.

"Law & Order: SVU" boss Dick Wolf said earlier this month that "Unstoppable" was written nine months ago and stressed that he has no power over NBC's schedule. He admitted that he doesn't know when it will air though he has suspicions that viewers will finally see it in the spring, Fox News reported.

Speaking about U.S. politics, former "Law & Order: SVU" star Chris Meloni has been challenging Trump's administration on social media. The actor, also known as Det. Elliot Stabler in the long-running series, recently posted a shirtless photo of himself on Twitter, saying that "the revolution is upon us" and "if you can't see the con then you are willfully blind." He also used the hashtag Resist.
