"The Walking Dead" season premier has been under fire after the disturbing butcher of Abraham and Glen. The ruckus rooted from the seeming association of the killing spree headed by Negan when he used a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire in the lengthy scene.

Some "The Walking Dead" cried foul referencing the scene as a torture which is unsuitable for the majority of the viewers. Meanwhile, Variety wrote that critics of the show combination of visuals and audio elements swerved too far into gratuitous territory. It even overturned "The Walking Dead's notoriety of producing episodes of the same element.

Due to this, "The Walking Dead's Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd acknowledged last Jan. 18 the episode's backlash. This acknowledgement hereby prompted the show runners to tone down its next episodes. Hurd addressed the issue during the NATPE conference saying it led them to introspecting the level of violence being showcased within the series and did tone down those episodes their team were still filming for later on in the season.

In another panel with AMC Networks president-CEO Josh Sapan, Hurd also acknowledged that "The Walking Dead" production team has crossed the line and was unaware that they are already filming a torture porn.

Therefore, expect less violent scenes in "The Walking Dead" Season 7B which premiers on Oct. 23. However, the show still goes amid the lesser violence. In the end the amazing storyline is the one that serves as the blood line of the series.
