Xbox One Latest News: Xbox One Gives PS4 Upper Hand For ‘Scalebound’s’ Cancellation; 'Halo Wars 2' Release On Xbox One [VIDEO]
ByThe video game line-up of Microsoft for the Windows 10 and Xbox One in 2017 is looking bleak after the tech giant officially announced the cancellation of the RPG "Scalebound." The cancellation of the action role-playing video game is a massive cut in the arm for Microsoft, as it has severely disfigured its video game lineup for 2017.
The recent cancellation of "Scalebound" in the video game lineup may have consequences for Microsoft's Xbox One. It appears that Sony's PlayStation 4 will be left unchallenged in one particular market.
The Windows Company did not take the action role-playing video game cancellation lightly. Microsoft needed the "Scalebound" in order to compete with PlayStation 4 in the Japanese gaming market.
Although it's Sony's home turf, but the action role-playing game would have made it big in Japan. Nonetheless, "Scalebound" enthusiasts were clearly disappointed by the news, and the mixed emotions of these fans were made known through various social media forums, such as Twitter.
Nevertheless, there are other Xbox One exclusive games coming up this 2017. But game critics believed that the games can't compete with PS4 exclusive, such as "Horizon Zero Dawn," Forbes reported.
Xbox One boss Phil Spencer admitted that the cancellation of "Scalebound" was difficult. Other Xbox One video game for 2017 includes "Crackdown 3," "Sea of Thieves" and "State of Decay 2."
On the other hand, THQ Nordic has collaborated with Microsoft for the physical release of the upcoming real-time strategy game "Halo Wars 2" on Xbox One and PC. The team up of the companies will make the real-time strategy game available on Xbox One and Windows 10, both digitally and physically, according to One Angry Gamer.
The standard edition of the forthcoming real-time strategy game will be up for grabs both digitally and physically for Xbox One and PC on Feb. 21 for $59.99.
