The third "Wolverine" movie, titled "Logan," has been teasing fans about what's to come in Hugh Jackman's last outing as the titular mutant.

Jackman takes out his adamantium claws one last time as Wolverine in "Logan," the third and final film in the "Wolverine" series. In the movie, Logan is gearing up for retirement as his self-healing powers begins to dwindle. His youth is already beginning to fade, as evidenced by his grey hair and the creases on his face.

Interestingly, Logan has an unusual companion in the movie - a young kid identified as Laura. It was recently revealed that Laura is more than just a young girl in distress. She's actually regarded as Logan's successor, and aptly so since she's actually X-23, a genetic clone that possesses Logan's DNA. According to /FILM, the character is brought to life by actress Dafne Keen.

In the trailer, Professor X, played by Patrick Stewart, tells Logan, "She's like you. Very much like you," which perhaps means to say that she also has Logan's self-healing powers.

In an interview with Empire, "Logan" director James Mangold talked about the depth of the film, especially with respect to where it is in the entire "X-Men" movie timeline. "We are in the future, we have passed the point of the epilogue of Days Of Future Past," Mangold said about the film's setting.

"We're finding all these characters in circumstances that are a little more real. The questions of ageing, of loneliness, of where I belong," Mangold added. He also went on to say that the movie will show how the heroes deal with retirement. After years of being in action and saving the universe, what happens to mutants when they're no longer useful or when they're powers are no longer as grand as they used to be.

There are two other characters seen in the film. Boyd Holbrook made his debut in the trailer. Although it's unclear what character he's going to play, he's rumored to play the anti-mutant cyborg named Donald Pierce.

There's also another mysterious character played by Stephen Merchant. He's face is covered with a scarf and huge specs, but it is speculated that he's playing a Morlock mutant named Caliban.

"Logan" will hit theaters on March 3, 2017.
