"Half-Life" rumors sparked once more due to a "leaked code." "Half-Life" may reportedly feature a new virtual reality game or possibly a third installment if some reports are to be believed.

"Half-Life" HLVR Code Leak

There is a possibility that the "Half-Life" programmers may have "accidentally" left some codes in the VR game Destination. The particular code referred to a glass panel that is being shattered. One of the lines in the code included a short description, "used to force the HLVR player to speak."

"Half-Life" fans quickly noted the "HLVR" acronym. It could easily mean "Half-Life" Virtual Reality, and this could also mean that the long-awaited third installment of the game might be a VR one. Interest among HL fans is peaking since the leaked code is being updated, according to IGN. Other lines added pertaining to various times like weapons and corresponding ammunition.

Valve Official Position and Speculations

Valve has not made any official comment about the alleged "leaked" codes. There is a possibility that the codes are merely leftovers that did not work out. The developer, however, has been known for intentionally leaking codes from time to time as hints for its game fans.

"Half-Life 3" Rumors Sparked Once More

The leaked codes have once given life to "Half-Life 3" rumors. It has been more than a decade since the last episode of "Half-Life 2" was released. Valve announced years ago that the third episode for HL 2 has been abandoned; however, that announcement was also made a long time ago.

These HLVR rumors have given hope to HL fans that "Half-Life 3" may be in VR form. Unfortunately, these are all speculations for now. There is some good news though, as Valve's new partner HTC said that it is aiming for a new "Half-Life" game to be release real soon.
