Xbox One News & Update: Xbox One Outsold PlayStation 4 For Three Months In A Row [VIDEO]
ByThe Xbox One has exceed in volume of sales over the PlayStation 4 in the United States for three months in a row, in which the stats should give Microsoft a huge boost in morale while heading into the holidays.
Ever since the current console generation was released in 2013, the console sales of Xbox One have been struggling to compete with the PlayStation 4. Though in terms of graphics, games, or any of the other important features, Xbox One has been keeping up with the PS4, but the PlayStation 4 has been dominant regarding console sales, wherein Sony has built up a massive lead over Microsoft and Nintendo, MUO reported.
In spite of that, based on the latest sales figures, the Xbox One has outsold the PS4 through July, August, and September. The latest sales figures report will not be released to the public until next week, but Microsoft's Head of Xbox Games Marketing, Aaron Greenberg, couldn't resist tweeting out the news early.
In Greenberg's tweet, he truly appreciates how Xbox become the best selling console in the United States for three months in a row. In which, it is the first time in this generation that they have won 3 consecutive months.
That being said, it stands to reason that demand for the PS4 has cooled over time as video gamers have their demand met by simply purchasing a console. The second major factor why Xbox One outsold PlayStation 4 is the exclusives. Xbox One has unleashed two major blockbuster exclusive video games in 2016, such as the "Forza Horizon 3" and "Gears of War 4."
Not only that both games are exclusive, these games are also critically acclaimed entries in their franchises, and these are franchises a person can only play on Microsoft's platforms, Windows 10 and Xbox One, Business Insider has learned.
The third major factor of Xbox One which applies mostly to September sales is the Xbox One S. In fact, the highest-selling console of any gaming hardware in September was the Xbox One S.
