Google Pixel, Pixel XL: The First ‘Made By Google’ Smartphones To Compete With The New iPhone 7 [VIDEO]; See India Pre-Booking Details
ByGadget freaks, rejoice! Google has finally unveiled its latest line of top-notch smartphones, the Pixel phones.
The search giant's poorly-kept secret is here! Technically dubbed as Pixel and Pixel XL, the pair is the first smartphones to be retailed as "made by Google," although the devices are still manufactured by HTC.
Google took the wraps off the highly anticipated Pixel and Pixel XL at a heavily-publicized event that took place in San Francisco. The company unveiled a slew of other hardware products including Chromecast Ultra, Daydream View, and Google Home, DigitalTrends reported.
The software and design of the Pixel smartphones are the first to be developed from scratch by Google. Here's all the info you need to know.
Google Pixel Smartphones - Design
The Pixel and Pixel XL both sport the same chic design and high-end features. Both handsets bear a striking resemblance to the iPhone 6 and the recently launched iPhone 7 series, which apparently is a design feature that the company shares with HTC creations.
The rear case of the smartphones strikes a perfect balance between an exotic metal and glass build. However, not everyone is expected to go gaga over the design, in fact, it may be a bit off-putting for some gadget freaks.
The whole idea was to keep the design of Pixel smartphones as simple and as smart as possible, both inside as well as outside, and that's hardly surprising considering that the phone will be the first phone to support Google's Android Daydream VR initiatives and Google's Assistant. But that's not all! The phone will also take care of your storage needs thanks to enhanced photos cloud support, BGR reported.
The Pixel sports the best camera Google made. It's worth noting that the phone scored 89 in DxOMark, surpassing Apple's iPhone 7 and every other Android front runner.
The camera on Pixel boast an array of awe-inspiring features such as HDR+ support and smart burst feature, zero shutter lag and fantastic video stabilization. Furthermore, Google Photos will offer Pixel users free unlimited storage for full resolution photos and 4K videos retaining the original quality. The Pixel features an all-new Google Service, round-the-clock customer care support, complete with screen sharing support.
