Google Pixel, Pixel XL Release Date & Rumors: A 360-Degree Video Rendering Of Google's Alleged Pixel XL Surfaces Online [VIDEO]
ByA new brand of Google phone is likely to be unveiled during the search giant's upcoming San Francisco event scheduled to take place on October 4. There's hearsay that a couple of new Pixel phones may be part of the unveiling.
Rumor mills have been swirling a slew of speculations around these purported smartphones - internally codenamed Sailfish and Marlin - for several months now. Aside from rumors, the upcoming Pixel smartphones have been subject to a salvo of leaks hinting what the new smartphone duo will look like, and the specs it's likely to have.
With the October 4 event just around the corner, we've been treated to 360-degree press renders of the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.
The latest shot has been fired by acclaimed tipster @OnLeaks who recently posted 360-degree renders of the Pixel XL (Marlin) and Pixel (Sailfish) smartphones. The prolific leaker even linked a video clip (shown below) to accompany the renderings. However, Google has not yet officially confirmed that the Pixel XL phone is in the works ( let alone what it might look like), and there are no evidences to uphold the authenticity of these renderings of what is said to be one of the upcoming smartphones, the Pixel XL, CNet reported.
Google Pixel, Pixel XL Leaks
The dimensions of the Pixel XL have been divulged by the render - 154.72x75.74mm in terms of height and width. OnLeaks further adds that the device is 8.5mm at the top, and 7.3mm thick at the bottom - this could be due to the camera.
The render gives us a sneak peek of the rear side of the Pixel XL that seems to sport a glass surface at the top, separated in the middle to continue the same uniform metal body. The render coincides with previous leaks of the Pixel XL smartphone.
Meanwhile, Android Authority has posted its own set of 360-degree renders for the Pixel smartphone, and it's worth noting is that again, the design coincides with previous leaks. The tipped dimension indicate that the thickness at top and bottoms remains unchanged i.e. the same at 8.5mm and 7.3mm; but as one would expect, the width and height are notably less - 143.8x65.9mm for the smaller 5-inch Pixel smartphone.
A previously surfaced leaked image hinted that the new PIxel XL will feature a home screen similar to its new Pixel Launcher in bid to give its new range of smartphone a fresh look. Rather than just being plain borders at the bottom, the new icons are now solid filled. Furthermore, the image also teases gradient wallpaper, contrary to the blue-colored one shown on the earlier leaked image of the Pixel smartphone.
Meanwhile, Google is also gearing up to launch a VR headset, 4K Chromecast and the Google Home smart speaker. Of course, all will be unveiled on October 4.
