Apple Inc. has issued a statement that is essentially setting expectations for tech fans who hoped they'd be able to throw themselves into an Apple store and purchased an iPhone. The tech company's statement clears it out that all iPhones will be in limited supply for walk-in customers without a reservation.
Apple claimed that its jet black iPhones and all iPhone 7 Plus versions in all colors have sold out in the initial online ordering period, based on the report of Tech Crunch.
The Cupertino based company made it known that customers who walk into Apple Stores will not be able to pick up the sold out smartphones on site, but these Apple fans can continue to place their orders for their desired models online.
Trudy Muller, an Apple spokeswoman, said in a statement that they sincerely appreciate their customers' patience as they work hard to get the new iPhone into the hands of everyone who wants one as quickly as possible, according to Reuters.
However, if people will decide to order the iPhone 7 and all iPhone 7 Plus variants online, they will have to wait until the pile-up clears. In the United States and the UK, both iPhone 7 models on the Apple website are showing a 2 to 3 weeks wait time.
It's also clear that if a person is after the new Jet Black variant, that person may need to wait up to five weeks for the iPhone 7 or hang on until November for a shiny black iPhone 7 Plus, Engadget reported.
Anyway, Apple launched the new smartphones earlier this month at a San Francisco event. The iPhone 7 and all iPhone 7 Plus features improved cameras and without the traditional headphone jack in favor of new technology.
The tech giant also claimed that they will not release first-weekend sales of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, pointing out that the official statistics is more of a reflection of supply than demand.
