In the newest patch of the sensational reality game "Pokémon Go," Niantic has banned rooted and jailbroken devices from playing the game. Players are undeniably disappointed about the news.

"Pokémon Go" players may have the reason to be upset as they spend tons of time training their Pokemon only to have the game quickly seized away from them after one random update.

The game developer pointed out that, as a rooted or jailbroken smartphone use outside software, it can do anything from drastically change a "Pokémon Go" player phone's operating system to make apps appear bigger on their screen, according to iDigital Times.

Niantic hit on "Pokémon Go's" official Facebook page and stated that they continue to focus on eliminating bots and scrapers from "Pokémon Go." Rooted or jailbroken devices are not supported by the augmented reality game.

The Facebook post also stated that even though they will stop rooted or jailbroken phones from playing the game, it won't fix the cheating problem in the "Pokémon Go."

Part of the reason why "Pokémon GO's" developer banned rooted and jailbroken devices is the launching of Pokémon GO Plus next week. As rooted devices tend to develop apps that trick or hack the device in ways that benefit "Pokémon GO" gamers further, based on the report of Forbes.

As the Pokemon Go Plus is a peripheral which gamers wear on their wrist when playing, Niantic does not want players to be hacking the new feature.

However, prohibiting jailbroken and rooted devices from the video game may not be the smartest move. As gamers will always find ways to cheat or break a certain product, just like what gamers did to Sony with the Playstation Portable, The Bitbag reported.

The hacking scene on Playstation Portable is considered to be the best in the handheld world, and these tricky hackers have already found ways to access the Playstation Vita.
