Much to the dismay of zealous "GTA" fans, Sony's PlayStation Meeting concluded without Rockstar Games shedding more light on "Grand Theft Auto 6." In fact, the game developer did not even make an appearance at the event.

While the huge fanbase of the hit action-adventure video game continue to speculate when the game title will finally arrive, several reports doing rounds online indicate that "GTA 6" will be announced this year.

Amid rampant rumors about the title's announcement, Rockstar Games has failed to provide any sort of detail regarding the title's development.

Not only the game developer has remained tight lipped about the long awaited game, but has also refrained from divulging any sort of information about the equally anticipated sequel to the western shooting game, "Red Dead Redemption 2," according to VineReport.

The recently concluded Sony event was held to unveil the new PlayStation Pro. Several top-notch game developers including EA (Electronic Arts) and Activision attended the event; however, not a single representative of either Rockstar Games or its parent company Take-Two Interactive could be spotted.

Rockstar's unexpected absence sparked speculations among avid gamers that the game title could launch in 2018. Other recently surfaced reports claim that the much-awaited title will be release in 2020.

Whether or not these speculations turn out to be true, one thing for sure, "GTA 6" is not likely to hit the store shelves anytime soon.

'GTA 6' Release Date Continues To Be A Mystery?

The question stems from Rockstar's inability to provide details regarding the status of the game's development.

While, rumor mills continue to churn all sort of speculations regarding the game's release date and other features, Rockstar Games is currently focusing on other projects and unfortunately, "GTA 6" is not even on its plan for at least the next couple of years.

If rumors doing rounds are anything to go by, Rockstar and Take-Two have their hands full with "GTA V" as the game developers continue making more content for the said title, iTechPost reported.

The current game turned out to be an instant hit among avid gamers and was well received by critics as well.

In other words, "GTA" fans are in for a long wait until Rockstar Games finally decides to provide some concrete details about the upcoming title. But these are mere speculations and readers are advised to take them with a huge grain of salt.
