'GTA 6' Release Date Remains Unconfirmed As Rumors Suggest That Rockstar Plans To Focus More On 'GTA 5' For Now; See Details!
ByRockstar Games left avid gamers disappointed at the recently concluded PlayStation Meeting as the game developer did not divulge any sort of information regarding the status of "GTA 6," the much-awaited sixth installment of the hit action-adventure game, "GTA."
This is not the first time "GTA's" huge fanbase is left hanging as to when will the highly-anticipated "GTA 6" will actually hit the store shelves.
It can be recalled that the game developer ignored quite a few events and gaming expos this year, with the biggest event was E3 2016 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) where fans were waiting with bated breath for a "Grand Theft Auto" sequel announcement, but much to their dismay, that did not happen; and to add salt to injury, the studio didn't even mention "Red Dead Redemption 2" either, according to VineReport.
Rockstar did not even make an appearance in this year's PlayStation Meeting that took place on Wednesday, September 7 where Sony took the wraps off its next generation console, the PlayStation Pro, which is a slimmer and updated version of the PlayStation 4.
Some leading game developers including EA (Electronic Arts) and Activision graced the event with their presence, but surprisingly not a single Rockstar representative was spotted.
Following its absence at the event, Rockstar came under fire from frustrated fans that even compared the game developer to other studios that make titles almost every year.
Why Rockstar Pushed Back 'GTA VI' Release Date?
Previous reports suggested that Rockstar prefers to release new "GTA" titles years after the precursor's release, in which one of the longest was the seven-year hiatus between "GTA III" and "GTA IV."
Meanwhile, some "GTA" fans hazard a guess that Rockstar could announce the much-hyped title either in 2018 or 2020. In other words, "GTA VI" is not likely to hit the store shelves anytime soon.
One of the most speculated reasons for the delay in "GTA 6" release date been pushed back is that Rockstar Games is currently concentrating more on "GTA V" this year and does not wish to leap to a new venture on its sequel, iTechPost reported.
While this may seem quite understandable, it cannot be denied that "GTA's" huge fanbase has been anxiously waiting for the game's next installment for quite a long time, but if these rumors proved to be true, they might be in for a really long wait.
Nevertheless, readers are advised to take these speculations with a huge grain of salt as Rockstar has neither confirmed nor denied these rumors.
