'GTA 6' Release Date, News & Update: Rockstar Gearing Up To Announce The Much-Awaited Game At PlayStation Meeting? 2017 Release Also Likely!
ByWhile avid fans of the hit action-adventure video game series continue to put up a howl for some word on "GTA 6's" release date, Rockstar Games has remained mum. But this hasn't stopped gamers from hazarding a guess that the much-awaited title will be announced at Sony event dubbed as, PlayStation Meeting.
It looks like "GTA VI" could be finally seeing the light of day as rumors doing rounds earlier last month indicated that Rockstar Games will unveil the upcoming title alongside the equally anticipated biker-themed DLC (downloadable content) for "GTA V Online" at the aforementioned Sony event.
The speculation stems from a social media post of an industry insider known as "Tidux." The insider tweeted emojis of a guitar and a star with the hashtag #PSM, which avid gamers took to mean as Rockstar PlayStation Meeting, according to reports on Parent Herald.
However, Tidux remained tight-lipped and did not respond to any of his followers' reactions to his tweet.
Another speculation alludes to an early 2017 announcement for "GTA VI." Whether Rockstar unveils the title this year or early 2017, International Business Times reports that 2018 release of "GTA 6" will be most likely citing the studio's trend of releasing new "GTA" games after four to five year's gaps.
According to the tech publication, by 2018, VR (virtual reality) gaming is likely to gain enough popularity to encourage Rockstar Games to release "GTA VI" with VR support.
Some reports indicate that "GTA VI" will be announced in 2017 and hint that Rockstar Games will announce "Red Dead Redemption 2" at the Sony event this week.
Reports also suggest that "GTA VI" is likely to opt for a theme based on London's '60s vibe and will feature a female protagonist and Hollywood actress Eva Mendes is said to lend the character her voice.
In addition to "GTA VI," biker-themed DLC for "GTA Online 5," and "RDR 2" video game, optimistic fans believe that Sony will unveil the PlayStation 4.5 Neo in the highly anticipated PlayStation Meeting that is slated to happen on Wednesday, September 7, in New York City.
