'Resident Evil 7' Update: New Protagonist, Gameplay, ESRB Synopsis; Leon Will Not Be In the Game?
By"Resident Evil 7" is now available for pre-orders. However, there are changes made in the sequel that makes it different from the traditional "Resident Evil" video games. Details about the new protagonist, plot, and weapons are revealed.
The "Resident Evil 7" was first showcased in the 2016 Electronic Entertainment Expo. The previous demo of the game was compared to Konami's "Silent Hills". Despite all the demos released by Capcom, however, fans still have no idea of the plot of the game.
Piece by piece gameplay demo released by the gamemaker which was supposed to give thrill about the game's plot was defeated by a synopsis posted by a Twitter user, Wario64. The synopsis from ESRB includes details about the new protagonist, weapons, monsters and hints that it will have more gore and violence in its content.
According to the ESRB synopsis, the players will assume the role of a certain man named Ethan who will then explore a "derelict mansion" in order to search for his missing wife. The description also tells more about weapons such as chainsaws, shotguns, famethrowers, pistols and explosives. The gore details are also described while warning about adult language in the cutscenes of the game.
It can be recalled that the name Ethan was first heard on the Gamescon 2016 trailer of "Resident Evil 7". A female character was talking to Ethan at the beginning of the scene.
The gameplay of this sequel, however, will not be as action packed as the other "Resident Evil" games. The new hero is a weaker character who is not very experienced compared to the other ones. The combat gameplay will be lessened on this one as per stated by the game producer, Masachika Kawata, Yibada reported.
Meanwhile,Matt Mercer, the voice actor of the character Leon S. Kennedy, confirmed that he was not approached by the company to do the project. Thus, fans cannot expect to see Leon in the sequel.
