In another quarterfinals match, Rajive Ouseph of Great Britain who has ousted Indonesia's Tommy Sugiarto, will fight against top-seed Viktor Axelsen of Denmark.

So Wan Ho (South Korea) vs Chen Long (China) will be the last quarterfinals matchup to see on August 17 before semifinals on August 19.

China's hope to sweep the gold medal for all badminton titles is crashed after Malaysia's mixed players Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying won over China's pair Xu Chen and Ma Jin in semifinal round.

In another semifinal match, the top seeded pair, Zhang Nan and Zhao Yun Lei, must admit defeat as Indonesian mixed pair Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir tossed them out of the competition.

The date is set and the world will witness Indonesia vs Malaysia in the gold medal match for mixed doubles on August 17.
