Huawei Honor Note 8 gathered 5.3 million reservations since its first flash sale announcement. While Chinese brands usually get few reservations for each of their devices, the bulk orders surprised Huawei tremendously.

The Huawei Honor Note 8 Android smartphone was released in China on Aug. 8, Monday. The price point is at 2,299 yuan, approximately $345 for the 32GB model.

Huawei Honor Note 8 carries a 6.6-inch display with a Super AMOLED panel. It has a quad-HD 1440p screen resolution and an incredibly thin all-metal body design at just 7.18 millimeters.

The Huawei Honor Note 8 is integrated with an octa-core Kirin 955 processor and a Mali-T880 GPU. It is powered by a massive 4,500mAh battery and equipped with a 4GB of RAM and a 32GB of internal storage.

There is a selection between 64GB and 128GB Huawei Honor Note 8 versions. The 32GB model has a hybrid dual-SIM card tray that users can utilize to expand storage using a microSD card.

The back of the Huawei Honor Note 8 features a 13-megapixel camera with a lens aperture of f/2.0, optical image stabilization and an RGBW sensor, 9To5Google reported. The front camera, on the other hand, has an 8-megapixel sensor.

The device does not feature a dual-camera system like the Huawei P9, but it includes a dual-SIM support, a rear fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C connector. Huawei's sub-brand, Honor, announced that the device will be arriving to the United States in the near future, Engadget reported.

In addition to the Honor Note 8 announcement, the company also revealed its mid range Honor Note 5 device that features a 5-inch 720p HD display equipped with a quad-core MediaTek processor and integrated with a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage.
